    Ace Of Cups Meaning

The Ace of Cups card is a tarot card resembling new love, and new beginnings in general. The Ace of Cups signifies emotional fulfillment.

    Element: Water (Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces).

The Ace of Cups has different meanings when interpreted upright as it does reversed (upside down, not the same as face down).

The table below shows a brief summary of interpretations, followed by more in-depth analysis of the card in both positions below.

    UprightReversed
New love, new feelings. Emotional awakening. Emotional emptiness. Feeling blocked from love. Emotional loss.
    (Yes/No?): Yes(Yes/No?): No

The Ace of Cups card is about new matters of the heart.

Whether this be by obtaining new love, having emotional breakthroughs or an emotional awakening.

It can also represent new initiatives and fresh starts or renewals in love or matters important to the heart.

    Meaning of Number 1 (Ace)

Aces often correlate with new beginnings or sparks. These situations usually are seen more in the 3-D world, or our day to day life, and in the physical reality.

All of the Aces in the deck of Tarot are associated with the number 1.

The number one symbolizes beginnings and origins. The number can indicate primal impetuses, as in the force to make something happen.

The number one represents the seed, spark, or instigation of something to come.

Like other odd numbers, the number 1 is considered to be a masculine number.

    Ace of Cups Description

In the original Rider-Waite tarot deck, the Ace of Cups shows a large hand, emerging from the clouds holds a single golden cup of water.

The cup of water is overflowing. "My cup runneth over". Five streams of water overflow from the cup, to be exact.

As always, pay attention to the cards surrounding the ace of pentacles to interpret the message.
