    Queen Of Cups Meaning

The Queen Of Cups card in Tarot rules the emotional realm, or the Cups suit. The Queen of Cups has great intuition, rivaled only by that of The High Priestess.

A queen on a throne with a golden cup, depicted on a tarot card.

The Queen of Cups is deeply connected to her thoughts and feelings.

    Element: Water (Cancer).

This card can represent a man or a woman; it's more about the energy that it represents.

This card has different meanings when interpreted upright as it does reversed (upside down, not the same as face down).

    UprightReversed
Intuition. Emotional stability and connectedness. Compassion, warmth and support. Oversensitivity. Neediness. Emotional insecurity.
    (Yes/No?): Yes(Yes/No?): No

All the Queens in tarot share certain characteristics, but in their individual ways.

They all traditionally embody stature, grace, and advocate for peace. They serve to be examples within their realm.

The Queen of Cups as a Person

The Queen of Cups energy represents an individual who is highly connected to their heart and emotions.

This person is highly intuitive and trusts that intuition.

This person can come off as very compassionate, trustworthy and extremely loving.

As a person, the Queen of Cups is never disconnected from their feelings.

Their decisions are best made, when they are made based off of their gut feelings.

The Queen of Cups as Feelings

The Queen of Cups is all about feelings, emotions and being connected to one's own heart space.

In the aspect of "feelings" the Queen of Cups rules this energy.

    Queen of Cups Description

In the original Rider-Waite tarot deck, the Queen of Cups depicts a proud but thoughtful queen sitting atop her throne.

She is facing the sea, but sitting on the shore, indicating she sits somewhere where both thoughts and feelings can exist.

She appears deep in thought, as she has a contemplative expression on her face.

    She is calm.

Tip in a reading: When pulling this card, pay attention to whom the Queen is facing and who her back is turned to. As in, the cards next to and surrounding this Queen card.
